The trek includes stretches where you walk outside, under the stars. Trekking is therefore not advised during the summer.

How challenging is the trek to Kudremukh?

What to look out for when trekking in Kudremukh

The peak's horse-face structure

When viewed from the side, a distinctive feature on the Kudremukh peak resembles a horse's face. This structure can be seen after an hour of hiking from the forest office. There are still three hours of walking left, despite the fact that it seems to be getting closer.

Hike through the Shola forest

Locally, "shola" refers to the grasslands and bushes that can be seen in the western ghats. Hike through the Shola forest to reach Kudremukh Peak.

This forest is home to a wide variety of creatures, including deer, Malabar giant squirrels, lion-tailed macaques, common langurs, leopards, and many more. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of them while hiking. Every step in this section can be found with leeches during the monsoon season.

The small streams and waterfalls in this area are among its most captivating features. On the way to the peak, you have to cross a lot of streams. While crossing, you might occasionally have to wet your shoes.

A Magnificent View of the Rolling Hills

A breathtaking view of the surrounding rolling hills greets you as you emerge from the shola forest. The lush, foggy valleys and hills are extraordinary. This region may be completely enveloped in mist during the monsoon. But you shouldn't miss out on the valley's game of hide and seek in the mist and clouds.

Conclusion

Everyone is aware that Kudremukh is part of Kudremukh National Park, the second-largest wildlife-protected area in the Western Ghats, and is located in the Chikkamagaluru district in the heart of the Western Ghats.
