The PEO temporary licence is given on the basis of a project and a discipline for at most a period of twelve months from approval. However, only one Certificate of Authorization is needed. Personal: The complete legal name of the applicant asking for the temporary licence must be provided. If for any reason, the name which appears on any documentation, academic or other, received by the association in support of your temporary licence application, is different from the information provided on the application, it will be necessary for you to provide official legal documentation accordingly.

Residence: The full permanent residence address with postal or zip code, must be given. You need to indicate your preference concerning the mailing address to be used by the association when corresponding with you (i.e., office or home).

Academic: For those who don’t have registration as professional engineers in another Province or Territory of Canada, an official academic transcript must be sent to the association (paying attention to the Registrar, Temporary Licence Division), and it must come directly from the respective institution/university. Student copies are not accepted.

Employment: It is necessary that the full legal name and address of the applicant’s present employer be given clearly. Don’t abbreviate the employer’s legal name. Professional: Provide a list of only the organizations in which membership or registration is held, which have functions like those of the association (i.e., another regulatory body). Project Identification: it is important that question 1(a) by means of (f) be completed in full. Not providing detailed information will delay the processing of your application. Pay heed to legal and proper names. Give as completely as possible: (a) the details of the project (i.e., owner, dimensions, type of facility and occupancy, intended use, new or modification, etc.); (b) sufficient details concerning the specific engineering solutions to be rendered by the applicant, and (c) reference to specific codes where applicable.

Descriptions of engineering solutions should make reference to the design, assessment, analysis or other engineering services to be given. If required, a cover letter may be included with the application.

Experience: submit a typed, detailed experienced summary with special attention to your engineering activities together with the application.
